They're in a couple SoCal shops but I haven't seen them yet. Some San Diego scooterists recently went to check them out.

LOVE the C3. I'd always believed it was inspired more by the Harley Davidson Topper.Whimscootie wrote:Looks like my little Yamaha C3 may have some good company!

That Cushman II looks a little too "homemade" for my taste. Still nice to see more scooter options out there, though.

Actually, it's pretty faithful to the original, a design which pre-dates WWII. Manufacturing tech for scooters wasn't terribly sophisticated back then. If you want homemade, check out the reborn TACO minibikes like the TACO 22. They have made some welcome improvements, e.g. disc brakes at both ends, but theres a lot of homage in the new machine.caffeine65 wrote:That Cushman II looks a little too "homemade" for my taste. At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...

Fuel-injected, 3 valve, 4 stroke, water-cooled, fat tires, low center of gravity, can haul anything just about, and a HOOT to ride!
Does anybody know how this new generation of Cushmans came about?

Slap one of these in and change up the gearing:

Does 294cc and 44.25hp sound better? Price is a bit steep (engine is as expensive as the scooter), but she'd scream like a banshee and go like the clappers. I don't think you'll be getting 100 mpg, though.
