loose throttle handle

Post by robtaylor »

just bought a second buddy, this one is a used 2006 also sunset orange.

the handgrip on this bike feels loose and has a lot of play i can twist the grip forward and it moves for half an inch or more when i do i can see the throttle cable move about is there a simple way to fix this i.e. tightening the throttle cable or something? any ideas what's going on and how to fix it would be appreticiated.

thanks
rob

Take the rubber boot off the cable next to the grip, adjust accordingly. I did this to achieve 0 play in the throttle

Zero is not good...too many variables could potentially create a "throttle-on" condition when you really DON'T want it. A wee bit of play is appropriate.
