Air box to cone filter

Post by Imabassplayer »

I've got an 09 genuine buddy 125. Needed to change the air filter and figured " for about the same price I can put a cone on". I got the cone filter, took the air box off, and clamped the cone to the hose where the air box was. It worked after I did it when I drove around the block but when I tried to head to work this morning it would die as soon as I tried to go. Any tips?

The Buddy carb is a delicate system that relies on vacuum to move the main slide diaphragm. When you mess with the stock air box, you mess with this.
You are probably better off returning the intake to stock.

Yeah that's what I figured. I read up and fall owed those lines coming from the intake but I hoped there was some way to make this work. Live and learn I suppose
