Hooligan Fuel Capacity

Post by skipper20 »

I was down to 1 bar on the fuel gauge when it started blinking. Went directly to my local gas station and filled the tank. Took exactly 1.33 gallons. Any idea as to when I might have run out of gas with that bar blinking at me? Fuel mileage was 78.95. Much better than my '12 170i Italia. Strange as the Hooligan is about 40 lbs. heavier using the same 170i engine.

The Hooligan fuel tank holds 6.0 L. That equates to 1.59 gallons. Subtract out the 1.33 gallons you put in and you had approximately .26 gallons left. At 78mpg, you had about 20 miles left.

Probably somewhat less than that. You really can't suck all the fuel out of the tank before you begin sucking air.

We ran our shop buddy "dry" while hauling a fuel can ( just to see). It took 1.49 gallons to the neck.
Speed is only a matter of money...How fast do you want to go?
