My Stella Auto desperately needs tunes but doesn't have much of a generator. I've got 96 watts of power on board with 5 watts left over after all accessories. If I replace the headlight and side marker bulbs with led's I'd reduce the draw from the lighting by about 30 watts. <-- is that thinking right?

What you're contemplating is a very good idea. It should greatly reduce the amount of power drawn from the alternator, plus LEDs outlast regular bulbs by a mile. You'll probably never have to change a bulb for the life of the scooter.

I installed an LED headlight conversion in my Blur. While the beam pattern isn't quite as focused as the stock bulb, it is much, much brighter and whiter. I figure since I ride in the city with all its street lights, the most important thing was to be noticed by other motorists, even in the day time. My LED unit has two LED elements, has low and high beam, and is rated for 18W. I believe that on low beam, it only draws around 10W. I noticed that there are three element units now available which might give a better beam pattern. LED headlights are available in wattages from 18 to 32 watts. I got mine from an outfit with a screwy name: www, banggood.com, but I also see them on eBay. Prices online range from $12 to about $45. Mine cost about $20, shipping included. So far, I'm very happy with the conversion, though I may give one of the three element units a try.
