Brake lights turn on when key turned off?

Is this normal? I just bought my wife a 2016 buddy 125 and I noticed even when the scooter is turned off and the key is out (ignition turned to off), if I squeeze the brake handle the brake lights activate. Also, when I flip the turn signal it turns on even when the bike is off. My 2013 buddy 170 doesn't do that...

I'm pretty sure that's normal.

I don't own my 2007 Buddy anymore, but I do know that my brake light would always come on when I squeezed the handle and I'm pretty sure the blinkers need to work (especially the hazards) even if there is no key in it.

...but I could be misremembering.

Nothing of the such on my '08, no lights, no blinkers, etc with it turned off and/or no key....

That isn't normal. Bring it back to your dealer for some warranty work! It's likely a simple ignition switch issue.

Yeah, not normal. Nothing on my Blur works without the key being on, except the clock.

Yeah it's weird, I put in the key and turned he ignition on and off and then it stopped doing it. I wonder if it was just in a bit of an odd position when the key was pulled? In any case if it happens again I'll get it checked.
