Awaking the Buddy from hibernation

Post by Dan Buddy »

Brought the wife’s Buddy out of storage this weekend and man was it hard to get started and is still running a bit rough. Anyone else had problems awaking their Buddy from hibernation? Took it for few mile ride today to see if that would help but she still will almost stall of I slowly bring on the throttle. If I just give it (wfo) it doesn’t happen. Do I just need to work the “stabled” gas through the system? Am I doing something wrong?

She went into storage the beginning of November with a topped off gas tank and stable in the gas. I added the stable to the gas, about 1oz, ran her for about minutes and then topped of the gas so stable should have made its way through the fuel system.

Possible water condensation or some evaporation in the carbs clogged a jet. You might want to try one of those carb cleaning additives, run it through a tankful of gas. Also, maybe adjust idle speed?
