Deadlight lenses

Post by Mike1nw »

2009 Buddy 125
So I powered the "deadlights".

Kind of a cheesy set-up though, small tabs on the lenses broken, lenses were stuck to the reflectors, reflectors loose... which I glued with a little gasket goop.

Are those 2 philips screws the only thing that hold the lenses in?

Yeah, they can be tricky especially when the plastic is cold (brittle). In the future, remove the screws then slide a credit card behind the lens. Move it all the way around while very lightly prying to release the tabs.

I did install new lenses, WOW they were difficult to set, really fit tightly! No reason to remove them again, I hope the LED bulbs outlive me 😃
