Tires?

Post by madtolive »

sorry if i'm kicking a dead horse, but i did a search and brought up a million unrelated threads.

i was wondering if any of you guys have switched out the stock tires? being in texas hill country, i pretty much don't have to worry about snow, and i wouldn't go out on a scoot if the sky even suggested a drizzle, but i would like to make sure i get the safest tires possible on my scoot in terms of road grip.

i ask because i've driven with less than stellar tires on my truck, and it can be a very scary thing. i don't want to feel suspicious of my buddy in this respect. any advice/opinions?

I hear great things about the S1's and I'm a big fan of Michelin tires on my other motorcycles.

I will be ordering a set when I need them. I have over 4k on my stockers now and the rear looks like it can last another 2k.

From Michelin:
"The Michelin S1 emphasizes performance and cutting-edge style. While its large tread blocks promise good wear resistance, the directional design combines durability and handling."

actually the stock tires on the buddy are great! They've held up through a lot of rainy weather, quick maneuvering, and some pretty hard braking (cabbies are out to kill me I know it). I've got close to 4,000 miles and they're still looking good too.

Gotta admit though those Michelin tires are looking nice.
