Buddy 50 brakes warp

After 800 miles the front brake rotor on my buddy 50 is very warped. Mostly because my wife is to hard on the brakes but, apparently it’s not up to slowing a de restricted, or slightly modified 50. I’m going to try another stock rotor and some aftermarket pads first. Try to get my wife to be nicer to the brakes and see how it goes. May need to put a oversized front rotor

I don’t think the original rotor is underspecced. Friend of mine has many miles on an 80cc BBK with the original rotor.

Yeah, going to go that direction next if the stock size rotor warps again. I’m getting a Blue Line Brand rotor to try, and some poloni pads.
For fun I’m also going to send out the old rotor to have it ground flat, even though it would cost more than a new one.
It is also possible the factory rotor got warped when the front wheel seemed to have been bent from a pothole. I probably should have put a new rotor on the new wheel. But, the rotor has gotten worse since then. It must be bad riding habits. It was fine when I was riding it.

Well,f. Shop must have used a lot of loc tight (had tires mounted and wheel replaced) I can’t get the rotor bolts out. Back together it goes. It might not actually be warped ether. After installing the NCY forks the brakes got noisy. Slightly different contact area. Maybe it will wear in. I’ll keep the brake parts on the side for later. Order some new rotor bolts to for next time.

We call those rotor bolts Butter Bolts for a reason. They are ALWAYS Loctired AND super tight, even from the factory. I have a extra set on hand when/if I never need to remove the rotor. We had one strip the head out on a newer ZX-10 rocket bike. Fun, fun, fun! I've found a few tricks to getting them off over the years but I think The Hulk works in Japan installing rotors on ZX-10 and on this particular day he must have spilled coffee on his crotch!
