Carb Drain?

Post by Beamie »

Chaising down a non-start issue this Spring on our 125 Buddy.
Seems to have a spark, so fuel next.
Is there a drain on the carb, short of pulling the line and weeping all over the ground?

Yes. There IS a drain in the bottom of the carb. It is in the form of a screw. You will still, however, getting the weeping you are concerned about, because, in order to access it, you will need to loosen the clamps holding the carb and rotate it upside-down. If you do that, you may just as well take the bowl off and clean it properly.

Sorry, no easy solution. That's probably why nobody responded.

I drained my carb with a loooooooong screw diver thru a hole in the body. No "moving" of parts. I putta Mt. Dew bottle @ the drain hose. After I figured out the screw driver would work I drained the carb in a flash.

So there is a hose attached to the drain?
Or just a plug?

Where is the tap?
I see a brass phillips screw with a rubber shroud on the right side opposite the hose on the left, but there's no clear shot to it.
Is that it?
How did you get to it?
