You sure know your way around Santa Monica! I think that's the Colorado Court apartments, which were built several years ago, before the current green trends. The wife doesn't share my appreciation for modern design and architecture.
Yet I've somehow almost got her convinced that a prefab modern office space would somehow fit in with our 1928 Spanish casita. "Uh, we could just throw some tiles up on the roof and, uh..." But the cool thing about both the house and the garage roofs is that they're both steep in the front but flat in the back, so that only our neighbors could see a massive solar array.
I have yet to figure out if my affinity for green technologies is more environmentalism than plain technolust. I'm sure it's some kind of combination of the two.

i actually would love to keep the old world architecture and then have the modern addition integrated into the existing structure. there was a house in one of the recent dwell mag that was kind of a modern interpretation of the spanish mission.... so freakin' cool. visually appealing and ultra efficient, too.
