I just bought my new buddy put the key in for the second time and I have NO idea what has happened! The key is out and it won't go back in but it is in the start position. Therefore, I can start it with NO key! Have a screwed up and broken it?!?!?![/b]

You cant take the key out while the bike is running I dont think, it's a very tight grip and shouldnt come out easily, how did this happen?
Can the bike start up electrically? If so, start it up, then try to insert the key, dont force it though, I'd talk to your dealer if some tricks dont work. They may have to just disassemble the entire thing and reset it back to off.

This does happen to some folks pretty regularly.
If you're not paying attention, it is possible to easily remove the key without the switch being fully in the "off" position.
When it's happened to me, I've GENTLY inserted the key as far in as I could and GENTLY worked the key back and forth.
It seems like if you try long enough and hold your mouth just right, the key will eventually go back into the switch.
It's probably happened to me three or four times in 5000 miles and I've been able to get it to work again within 10 minutes or so.
Good luck.

I just had the same problem. I had just opened the seat, turned it back to off, and then removed the key. But the lock is still pushed in and partially in the ON position. The scooter will start. Thanks to several of these posts I had the information to keep working on it until the key finally goes back in.
There must be a small flaw in the lock mechanism that allows the key to be removed if the lock is still pushed in and partially in the ON position. Maybe a little WD40 will help.

This same thing just happened to me the other day. It was pushed in and half way to the on position. I'm not sure how it got there, but the key wouldn't go back in. It took me 5 or 10 minutes wiggling it around to get the key in and back to normal.
