Can't speak for Eddy, I know this has happened to me before ... when I hit submit, I get a buffer error of some kind. It tells me that communication with the forum was not successful. I'll hit the submit button again and get the same message. Wash, rinse, repeat. When I give up, I go back to the thread only to find my message posted the exact number of times I hit the submit button.

"Back in the day" (like, before the '80's), racing motorcycles was considered safer than racing cars. Why? One reason: fire. Before all of the stringent driver safety regulations, death by incineration was an all too common occurrence in racing. Conversely, if you crashed your racing bike, the one thing you didn't worry about was fire. All that has changed over the years and now it's pretty difficult to imagine a scenario where a bike is safer than a car in any sort of impact.

Aside from the brief history lesson, the one other thing I wanted to make clear is that jeans aren't gear. I'm not chiding people for wearing jeans, I do it fairly regularly. In fact, there are days in the summer when I'll just wear khakis on my commute to work. But I do it knowing the risk. If I go down, I know my pants aren't offering any protection. Draggin Jeans are a different beast altogether, they should offer fairly good protection in a slide.

I don't gear up for "the big one". If you get hit by a truck at speed all the gear in the world probably won't help much. I gear up for the stupid mistake that I or someone else makes that causes a single vehicle slide or low speed impact.

Clearly this topic has been cause for arguement and I don't want to pour salt on an old wound but this may be the make or break point for me. I can't wear leather when it is 110 degrees and feels like a swamp and I am just heading my 3 miles to work - no freeways, just a few stop signs and one red light.

Florida folks - What do you wear... when it gets hot enough to cut the air with a knife?

Yeah, that happens occasionally. But if you look, he quoted different posts in each reply and his reply contains different misspellings each time. Looks pretty deliberate to me!

If it's not, I'll happily delete any duplicates.

I am looking for something that is not hot.
I have been doing some searches but most of what I find looks like it should be on a Harley guy or speed racer.
Are there any simply styled cycle gloves out there?
Any links to sellers would be appreciated!
The summer gloves I referred to in my post are Rev'It R-59's. They're snug but not overly tight, have decent knuckle armor and still breathe really well.

That's happened to me before, too. Luckily, when I've noticed it posted, I've had time to delete.

THANKS to all for the glove suggestions & links
I saw a couple pair that I like & are just what I was hoping to find, but couldnt.

unfortunatally I got xrays this afternoon & I have a broken foot & wont be on my scooter for 4-6 weeks - at least I have time to order some gloves.
(this was NOT a scooter accident)
