Three questions: Mirrors, Boston, noise and more

Hey everyone: Long time reader, first time poster. Just so everyone knows, I'm Dave, from Boston. I live over in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood and ride an orange 2008 Buddy 50. It's kind of the best thing ever. EVAR!!

Three questions for y'all:

1. Are there mirrors that sort of fold in, instead of unscrewing? I have a small gate I enter though to park my Buddy in the back yard. When I go in, I have to unscrew the mirrors and sort of fold them in! Is there a mirror with a latch/lock system or something you can adjust without unscrewing? Am I making sense?

2. Are there any other Boston folks around here? Please speak up! You all seem to be only from Austin and Chicago!

3. My Buddy is derestricted (don't tell anyone), is it supposed to make a bunch of noise or should it sound like the Jetsons? It seems pretty sputtery and noisy.

Funny scoot encounter today: Today a construction worker daddy pulled up next to me in his truck and asked me all about my scoot - at three different stop lights. I think he's getting one!

Yes, they are called "bar end mirrors". Very common on motorcycles. This particular brand might work for you but be prepared to lighten your wallet. You'll need to determine your handlebar size to see if these will fit.
I've done business with these folks for my motorcycle. Very good to do business with. If these don't work, it should give you some ideas of what to search for.

You'll probably have to tap your handlebars to fit bar end mirrors. I know it's been done on a Buddy; I'll search for the links.

Problem is, they may not actually make the Buddy much narrower—the ends protrude from the handlebars so you'll probably have at least an inch of bar end hinge on each side.

Another possible option: get the older Buddy mirrors. These have shorter stems, which are narrower than the handlebars when mounted.
