Hello everyone.
Can anyone suggest a good headset, nothing fancy that I can wear while I'm riding my scooter?
I don't want a bluetooth, just another thing to remember charging, just something simple that will allow me to answer the phone while driving, and telling the other person will call them back. I have to answer the phone as much as possible, and I hate pulling aside, taking off the helmet, and in most cases it's to late they hung up.
Is there a headset that has the mike separate from the answer button? I remember at one time there were some cheap cell phone headsets that had the mike in the ear piece, like I mentioned, not too worried about the quality of the sound, just wan to tell them will call back later anyhow.
thank you for any info.

Sorry, the only viable solutions I know of that work well with a helmet are Bluetooth. Some wired handsfree sets do have pedant mics with buttons on them to answer calls, but I think they'd hang too low.

I bought a cheap wired headset for this purpose but I have yet to try it.
If the problem is the mic hanging too low (below the helmet) maybe you could velcro it to your helmet right in front of your mouth? Obviously then you'd not be able to use the answer button, but don't most cell phones have an auto answer setting that just answers every call that comes in for this purpose? Maybe that could work.
I've yet to try mine because I tend to agree with the post above that I just don't need the distraction on the scooter. I listen to music pretty regularly but I'm the type that music actually focuses me so it's not at all the same thing for me. But, I hear you, if you have to answer and say you will call right back maybe the idea I described might work. The VM "I'll call you right back" idea is good too.
