Another new member!

Post by ScootScoot »

I feel obligated to make my little introduction post. I lurked for a few weeks and finally went out and bought my 2007 Sunset Buddy 125 last week. I've actually been trying to avoid riding it as much as possible as I am getting way too comfortable and addicted to riding it already. My helmet doesn't come in until Thursday and I don't take my motorcycle safety course until the first week of June... It's really hard though! I swear my buddy just sits in my garage calling my name.. begging to be ridden... Anyway! Hey, hello, I'm Victoria. I live in Tallahassee, FL, but I'm originally from Green Bay, WI... I'll get around to posting pictures of my buddy as soon as I get it personalized a bit.

Ps. Did everyone here have to do their motorcycle class/test on an actual motorcycle?? They won't let me do it on my scooter! I'm 110 pounds and horrified to ride a real motorcycle! Cripes.

Welcom & have fun!
I am sure you will start finding ANY excuse to go for a ride (we all do... especially when they are brand new)

Welcome and congrats on your new Buddy!

I know here in the Orlando area a few of the courses say that you can bring your bike and they will inspect it and make a decision on if you can use it. There should be a few options in your area to take the course, call around and see if you can get anyone to see it your way :)

The course here in Dallas (actually Carrollton) gave you an option. They had a good number of Vespas to take the class on; which is what I did. Not sure of other courses.

I took mine on a motorcycle. I think it is better for you in the long run. If you can take a MSF course to exempt you from the driving portion of the test, do it.

Another FL member! That state's going to be overrun with scooters soon. (Yeah!)

How much experience do you have on a motorcycle?

Taking the MSF course is the recommended way to go. If you have little experience on 2-wheels, especially a motorcycle, you may find the test pretty challenging.

welcome and congrats!! the msf course lets you bypass the dmv test. they give you a card to take to dmv, because it's harder then anything the dmv will test you on. ride safe and have fun.
