Buddy 150 Gas Mileage
Last month I bought my first scooter, a 2007 Vespa LX 150. I'm averaging 67.5 mpg with two up. My boyfriend is looking at a Buddy 150 and believes that it will get 80-90 mpg. For those with Buddy knowledge, please reply with your actual gas mileage. Thanks!!!

Re: Buddy 150 Gas Mileage
Anyone hear who can speak to the mpg on the 150cc? I get 95mpg on my 125, but rarely ride two up.Susie Q wrote:Last month I bought my first scooter, a 2007 Vespa LX 150. Re: Buddy 150 Gas Mileage
67.5 with two up is actually pretty good for a LX150 that hasn't been broken in yet!Susie Q wrote:Last month I bought my first scooter, a 2007 Vespa LX 150. I'm averaging 67.5 mpg with two up. Your boyfriend is probably right. Genuine says it'll get 89+ MPGs but that may be a bit on the optimistic side. It does depend on a number of other factors, though: weight, type of riding you do, even elevation and weather. Hopefully, some 150 owner will chip in with their mileage.

mines broken in too and before i installed the prima exhaust, it was getting around 140 mpg, with me riding by myself, no passengersjfrost2 wrote:My dad has a Pamplona 150, On his first tank of gas, he rode about 68 miles on slightly more than half a tank. Around 110-120 miles to a tank I'd guess.
My 125 is broken in and it was getting around 100mpg and around 130-140 miles to a tank the last fill up.

Miles per gallon or miles per tank? Wow, we might need some GPS numbers on some of these because there's a lot of variance and I've never heard of anyone getting this much on a 4-stroke 150cc scoot!r0sa wrote:mines broken in too and before i installed the prima exhaust, it was getting around 140 mpg, with me riding by myself, no passengersjfrost2 wrote:My dad has a Pamplona 150, On his first tank of gas, he rode about 68 miles on slightly more than half a tank. My 150 St. Tropez is a week old,has 240 miles on it,so it's not broken in yet, and I take odo reading every day when I go out and on my first 2 tanks, and mind you, I visually ensured that the fill level is the exact same and I write down the pump reading both times, I got 84 MPG with mixed riding-20-50 MPH and light winds. I'm 230 and 6 feet.

Isn't it kind of hard to get an accurate MPG estimate since the speedodometer is not accurate? Don't know if the Buddy and the Blur uses the same speedodometer mechanics, but the speedodometer on my Blur is about 10% optimistic when compared to my onboard cyclometer. This will also affect the odometer since it gets it's information from the speedodometer.

I have a St.tropez with almost 600 miles on it. I just had the first oil change and check up and everything was fine. I ride it daily to work on roads where I am traveling somewhere between 25 anf 50 mph and have been getting about 87 to 90 mpg. I am anxious to see if it changes as the engine gets more mmilage on it.
I am 5'7' and about 180 lbs.

Incorrect. The odometer is a geared mechanism and linked physically to the wheel. Generally they are very accurate, effected usually only by altering the rolling diameter of the wheel in some way.
The speedo OTOH, operates by way of a spinning magnet which is calibrated by tension on a wound spring. Variances in the spring lead to wild inaccuracies in the speedos.

I dunno about the Buddy, but on the Blur, the odometer is *very* accurate, it's just not using any unit of measurement that marginally resembles a mile OR a kilometer.StL_Stadtroller wrote:The odometer is a geared mechanism and linked physically to the wheel. I have a 06' Buddy 125 w/ a Prima medium universal windshield. I'm just shy of 2500 miles on the odometer and ride about equally on flat, uphill, and down hill. I probably weigh about 210 with my gear. (After this weekend's bar-b-que anyway.)
If I ride conservatively and don't have too severe of a wind I get around 90mpg. If I ride a little more enthusiastically I get closer to 80mpg.
Worst ever was about 76 I think which I think had a lot to do with low tire pressure. I used to run at whatever the manual says but folks here told me to try 30psi front and back which helps.

In that case, my speedodometer is also very accurate in whatever unit of measurement it's showing.
