Will the WSBUD3 short windshield fit 06 Buddy 50?
I have seen some online dealers say it will fit while others say it won't. I have an 06 but prefer the look of the WSBUD3 to the WSBUD1.

The WSBUD3 has a larger opening to accomodate the bigger headlight. The WSBUD1 won't fit the 07 Buddy because of the smaller opening for the 06 headlight.
The WSBUD3 should fit but with a wider opening around the headlight. I have not tried this but looking at the two it seems correct. Anyone chime in with absolute info?

Both screw into the mirror posts, the 06 and up all have the same mirror post, just a different headlight size. So it would fit, but like we said, larger gap under neath, so more wind coming in.
The WSBUD1 goes down past the handle bars too which keeps wind from hitting your hands a bit, another thing to consider since the BUD3 Wind shield just goes from the headlight up.

DennisD is correct, the WSBUD3 windshield will fit on a 2006 Buddy but you will have a larger gap between the 2006 headlight and the WSBUD3 windshield. Here is a picture to show you what it looks like. The orange Buddy is a 2006 (has a smaller headlight) and the Italia Buddy is a 2007 (has a larger headlight).DennisD wrote:The WSBUD3 has a larger opening to accomodate the bigger headlight. I don’t even notice the wind that passes through the gap between the windshield and the headlight. The windshield can be adjusted up or down on the mounting brackets so that you can adjust how large the gap is between the windshield and the headlight. On both my 2006 and 2007 Buddy there is a noticeable gap between the windshield and the headlight because I just set the windshield height to something that looked good to me but if I wanted to I could lower the windshield so that it was closer to the headlight.Lil Buddy wrote:hcstrider, Does the gap above the headlight (when mounted on the 06) let in a noticable amount of wind?
Some people love windshields while other people absolutely hate them. I love it because I feel that the windshield makes the Buddy more aerodynamic by routing wind around my torso instead of through my torso. As for deflecting wind into your open face helmet, I am not sure because I wear a full face helmet.Lil Buddy wrote:And, does the short windshield really give that much protection the from elements? As of now, I wear an open face helmet. Will the short windshield just deflect the wind right into my face?
Concerning your question about whether the windshield protects you from the elements, I think that Alex B gave the definitive answer to this question. Her picture with all of the bugs on the windshield says it all.
