Anyone else waiting?:UPDATE

My wife and I have two Buddy 125's on order at our local dealer (ordered last Sunday, a week ago.) The delaer has a hard deliver date on the orange scooter (Thursday!) but he does not have a date on the seafoam green one. He tells me that the seafoam is the 'it' color this year so Genuine has none in stock. Can anyone confirm this? Any dealers out there that are having the same supply issues?

if you live near seattle, Ducati Seattle has a seafoam green 125

The way this year is going they're all "it" colors

No kiddin'. I haven't heard anything specifically about seafoam green, but this has happened in the past with some colors.

Was there any kind of estimate on availability?

The two colors Genuine doesn't make any more!

Guess there are some '07s still available.

I had somewhat of the same problem. My dealer didnt know when they were getting them. So I emailed Genuine myself.

Here was their reply:

Sorry for the slow response.

Vreeland's is a new dealer and started up with us when the season already began and most of our 2008 production was allocated.

So we have been trying to get them product as quickly as we can. They are great guys, and have an excellent service department. so I think they will treat you well.

I believe we just shipped them an Italia, so you might check back with them to make sure it is not already sold.

Well, that's great to hear. The dealer did not give us an estimated time of arrival, but we did email Genuine this morning. We'll let you know what the result is!

Here's the update -

We did email Genuine and received a response within a couple days - you're right Ericalm, that is some great customer service. So, the resonse was:

Steven:

Sorry for the slow response. We have been crazy busy this summer!

Urban Village is a relatively new dealer of ours... and I know
personally
Kurt has been doing everything he can to get you the scooters you want.

We signed Urban Village up after the season started, and typically
there is
a very long lead time on scooter orders. so we have been working hard
to get
product to him quickly.

I think it is safe to say your wife will have her scooter in July...
but we
will do all we can to get it out there sooner!

So, with this info, we decided to open up our search. A dealer outside Utica, NY has a blue 125 available and a dealer in Cleveland has a seafoam. I called our dealer, and great news, the orange scooter was in. I asked our dealer about the possibility of cancelling our order since we might go elsewhere. He told me that a blue 125 came in today as well. My wife decided that "a blue in the hand is worth two green in the bush" so we'll have both on Monday.

YAHOO!!!!!

In time if she doesn't like the blue, you can swap out the panels for her to whatever color she may want.
