Couple questions...

I have a Garmin Streetpilot C340. I've found a couple sites that sell mounts but so many options and not sure which one works. Hate to spend $50+ and get it wrong. Anyone with the 3.. series that already went through this? I realize it's not weatherproof, but would rather just use it for now instead of buying yet another one.


Any sidecar options for the Buddy yet? Anyone hooked one up? My wife is against letting our 8 year old daughter ride on the back but would be OK 'semi' with one. Probably dreaming though... Not sure how it could perform with that much more weight.


I got a 2007 Cream 125 buddy but my dealer put the longer stemmed mirrors on for me for free. Still seem pretty useless. Pain to get pointed right and still have a lot of issues seeing behind me. Better aftermarket option?


Loving it so far... Have a 30 mile commute to work and found a route that avoids the highways and is actually quite nice even though it takes twice as long... Just trying to work up the nerve to try it now. Route is pretty complicated and I have a horrible sense of direction, so think I'll kill myself trying to look at a printout constantly.

Have you checked out the RAM Mounts site? They have bolt-on mounts or some that wrap around the mirror stems. You can do a search by GPS model.

Mike from NoHo Scooters put a sidecar on a Buddy but I don't think it ever worked well enough to be safe. There were problems with stability and weight distribution.

Lots. Anything with 8mm stems and a reverse-threaded right mirror. Kymco mirrors work as do some of the Vespa one (GTS). Do a search to see some of the many options members have come up with.

When I started commuting to work, I found it very helpful to practice the routes a few times on weekends before doing it in traffic. I was already familiar with the routes, but the streets are much different on a scooter. Every pothole, groove and bump is more significant.

I looked at the RAM mount options and found some for the C340 but there were several options and wasn't sure which were the right bits to get. I came across a post where someone had one that seemed to screw in with the mirror which seemed the best option but still looking for that.

Hope to try the commute to work soon. In the car on 400 it only takes about 40 mins to go the 30 miles but looks like it'll take an hour and 20 on the scoot taking the back way. But, it's a nice pleasant route so won't mind. Not sure it will be possible once school starts up again, lot of schools in those neighborhoods and traffic will probably be horrible.
