Really? Maybe I am just dumb but I could only find a couple of the parts on that list and I checked about 6 dealer websites. Could you link some of those up?rajron wrote:So with a quick search it wasn’t very hard to find the suggested parts at a couple of MRP Power Dealers; total comes out to $400.00 - $500.00.
Anyone do this mod?
So was it concluded that there was no cylinder kit or cam upgrade that would work for the 125?MikieTaps wrote:I think the list on the first part of that video is the most complete that I have been able to find... aside from generic clone Gy6 parts that would probobly kill our buddies..
and a Prima exhaust
I ordered those exact sliders from my dealer last week. $24. Should be here Tuesday. I am stoked.Leeroy Jenkins wrote:i scored "Dr.Pulley Sliding Roller weight for GY6 11g 18x14" from

This is the belt they fit on the scoot in the video. [EDIT: For some reason, they don't use their own belt. They use a Pollini. Huh?]Keys wrote:I know dealers who won't have anything to do with MRP because of quality and customer service issues. I personally have in my possession a belt from MRP that was advertised to fit the Buddy 125. Yes. It fits...but it sapped about 20% of my power because the angle was wrong. The length and width were correct, but the angle apparently was wrong enough to adversely affect my performance.
Oops, you're right—they use a Pollini. That makes me wonder why they wouldn't use the belt they make...?!rajron wrote:In the video didn’t they use an alternate belt, not a MRP?
Seriously... Every time we find something that looks cool, nobody knows if it will actually work. I guess I'll just stick with putting the new sliders in for now. I'll wait for one of you fools to throw this transmission kit in and tell me if it actually works (or if it destroys buddy).MikieTaps wrote:Its so frustrating trying to find performance parts for these things

My "hunch" is that the normal GY6 variator and clutch parts could probably fit. You'd have to buy them and try and install.
I know there are a couple owners here with Kymcos and Buddys. Give it a shot. Or—who has a Honda Met? Or a Chinese scooter? Or just about any 50/125/150cc scoot from anywhere in Asia? Most of them are GY6-based, right?ericalm wrote:Last night, Mike from NoHo Scooters told me that some Kymco transmission parts, for instance, are actually stamped "GY6." They won't work in PGOs.
New engines are not that easy to come by. I know of a couple instances where an engine replacement was needed (under warranty) and the owner either got a new scoot or an engine pulled from another Buddy in the shop. Given the fact that Buddys are selling like hotcakes and there's a supply shortage, I wouldn't count on either of those things happening.MikieTaps wrote:While we are talking about destroying buddies... Does anyone know what a new motor will cost me if I do this thing, and it ends up killing lil red?
