They are Moose Racing M1 Knee Guards. That's the first time I've had a fall with them on and I gotta say I didn't even feel it! Got 'em at the local M/C shop for about 15 bucks including shipping (they had to order them since they're not a stock item)... Places that sell dirt bikes and sport bikes will probably have them, if you don't see some you like ask to look at a catalog of stuff they can order. Worth the $15 IMO... I only wear them when I wear shorts, but now I think maybe I should wear them all the time!

KrustyB,

Is this one size fits all?

If I wear with blue jeans, how do I know they will fit?

I'm so glad you had them on and weren't injured.

Do they restrict your knee movement at all?

Adjustable polyester elastic strap with hook-and-loop closure
Is the Adjustable elastric strap just below the knee and it keeps it secure and didn't shift at all when you fell?
The damage that could have been done to your knee--owie!
Amazing!

We need more info, KrustyB! I've had several surgeries on my left knee and I don't want another (after I've had it scoped again, that is). Do they make your legs sweat a lot? I'm a guy--I've got hair on mine. :?

Okay, SO MANY QUESTIONS!!! I'll try to answer all of them.

There is only one size for adults, and one size for kids as far as I know. Other brands may have different sizing.

As far as the velcro strap goes, there is just one elastic strap on each leg (which goes around the calf). When I first got them I wasn't too impressed with how secure they fit to my knees, it felt like they needed a strap above the calf and one below. However, surprisingly they didn't move at all while I was sliding.

I don't usually wear them with jeans, but I did just now and they feel even more secure. I have a medium/smallish leg and the strap goes all the way around, so even if one's leg is 4 inches bigger than mine, it will still fit. Also I confess, I'm too lazy to shave my legs! Aside from important occasions, I haven't in like 8 years  . Ah well, I don't really care that you know... The kneepads are obviously gonna be hotter than not wearing anything on your legs, but I haven't had major leg-sweat problems. I'll have to wear them with jeans to see how hot they'll get...

And last but not least, they don't restrict knee movement. When you extend your leg completely straight, you can feel it right above your knee, but not stiff enough to make a difference.

I might suggest going by a couple places and trying on different ones to see which fit you best.

Besides protection, they look like good cold weather gear too...

KRUSTYburger, thanks for answering all those questions. You've got me considering kneepads, too. I have yet to find riding pants that fit me, so this could be a reasonable alternative. Thanks again! :D
