Help With Stebel Install

Post by Shane Wilson »

I've installed my Stebel this morning.

It's not right, however.

I've wired it up, including the relay, according to the instructions that came with it, but when I hit the horn button, it sounds and then keeps on sounding.

Does this sound like a faulty relay?

That sounds annoying. :)

Double check your wiring because it sounds like the relay is wired to be "self latching", meaning once it energizes, the contacts are supplying power to the relay coil to keep it energized. When the horn is sounding, does it turn off and stay off when you turn the ignition key off then back on? If so, then it may be either a defective or miswired relay.

Man, I wonder if the relays commonly have issues when shipped.. I know EP_Scoot had a bad relay also.

I just got the Stebel Nautilus I ordered but haven't tried to install it yet.
