Actually, I was out buzzin' around yesterday and was coming down the slope of one of the highway river bridges, and looked down and saw the needle on about 72. Srsly? Moi?
I'm 54, around 240, and suddenly thought better of how fast I was going.
But apropos of nothing at all, the new S1s felt pretty good. That, a fresh oil change, and temps in the low 70s, and the Bud was rolling strong.
Feel da rhythm! Feel da rhyme! Get on up! It's Buddy Time!

I finally installed a ram-mount for my phone, so I finally got a GPS measurement of my speed. Looks like I top out at 67mph. I got to 68 on a slight downslope, but 67 is my top as far as I can tell.
So far by my GPS 60 mph. Silver Bullet has 750 miles on it. I weigh in at 185 and am 77. Guess I will open her up some time just to see what she tops out at.
Most scooter & motorcycle speedometers seem to run 10% optimistic. All mine do according to my GPS. A windshield will tend to streamline the bike
and give an extra couple of miles to the actual speeds.
OK, today I opened the Silver Bullet up and hit 65 mph, GPS. Level ground.
I will go back now to running 50-55 GPS mph. I did not get to be this old by being careless!!!
72mph indicated on the Blackjack one night long ago. actual would be around 64mph something or other. usual ultimate top speed is 65mph indicated or so
