Well, no I don't find myself carrying cups that often. I do carry a water bottle but it's sealed so it just kind of lays in the glovebox.betsy q. bramble wrote:Do you not use the cup holder because it doesn't work well, or isn't big enough or something? Or do you just not drink as much coffee as me?
But the cupholder, at least on mine (you can get any kind of material- mine is duckcloth so it's waterproof but also doesn't hold shape well), is very flexible so sometimes if you pull the cup out at a light, the cupholder will kind of fold down and then it takes two hands to put the cup back in. I've thought that reinforcing it with plastic would be helpful to help it retain its shape. Even taking a plastic cup and cutting it down to size would work.
I don't know if that makes sense- it's definitely big enough (and he can make any diameter), just kind of flimsy without any plastic reinforcement. Check out the pictures at the top of the thread and imagine that cloth cupholder part without a cup in it and you'll get the idea.

I guess I meant height. Is it deep enough to hold something in there and be sturdy. I don't usually sip while riding, but I most certainly do stop and get coffee on my way to work every morning.
Right now I have the Prima cup holder that uses the suction cups to stick, and I place it below the speedo. It works good but I do worry about the day it fails and the coffee splashes all over my torso.

I also am a raging coffee adict, but I usually just place my coffee cup into the cup-holder-esque spot in the glove box and have never had a problem with it. I do wish it would hold the cup a bit more upright though.betsy q. bramble wrote:I guess I meant height. Is it deep enough to hold something in there and be sturdy. oh... well it doesn't really change the height. It goes down to the bottom of the glove box. Imagine putting your mug in the left hand cup side of the glove box but keeping it close to the front instead of it slipping all the way to the back. That's pretty much what it does. It's a DEFINITE improvement over just letting a mug roll around in the back of the glovebox.betsy q. bramble wrote:I guess I meant height. Is it deep enough to hold something in there and be sturdy.
