Fulmer Helmet Recall

Post by ericalm »

I know a few members here own Fulmer helmets. Hopefully, you've heard about this. If not...

From ModernVespa:

They are the Full Face Modus known as the AF-M Modus
which are the ones that the front opens up.
Fulmers states that the helmets in question are only in the XL, XXL,and the XXXL sizes

Also Recalled are the SN-M Snow in the same sizes

Helmets in question were produced between Nov.2001 and April 2006

pull out the helmet liner to see the large stamp of Mfg. Date.

Call 800-489-2300, 8am-4pm cst., to arrange a call tag and RMA # to swap out.

Not a Fulmer Fan Anymore!!

Post by jperkins »

So I called Fulmer for the recall. Bad Bad Bad customer service. They were extremly rude. When I asked about returning my helmet, they stated it would take about two weeks to get a new helmet after recieving mine. This is unexceptable, I cannot be with out a helmet for over two weeks, its way to dangerous. I feel that Fulmer in encouraging people not to wear a helmet so that they may save a few bucks. I do not feel that they were half as concerned about saftey or customer service as they were with money!

This is extremly dishearting because at one time I was an extremly big fan of the company, but now I would not recomend it to anyone.

It's pretty infrequent that consumers would need customer service for the helmets from the manufacturer. While there's no excuse for rudeness, they maybe overwhelmed by the response to the recall.

That said, why make people return their helmets before issuing new ones? They can't retrofit and resell them. When my Apple battery was recalled, they issued a new one after I provided my serial number, proving I had a faulty unit. The replacement came with everything I needed to send back the faulty battery.

Fulmer Helmet Recall

Post by Goldwingman »

The customer service is worse then BAD. It is next to non existent, they are the most disagreeable company to deal with I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I have been forced (If I want to ride) to wear my wife’s helmet which is 2 sizes to small, that is almost worse then no helmet. I for one will NEVER BUY ANOTHER FULMER HELMET and I am very sorry I ever recommended the helmet to my friends who did buy.
I jumped through ALL their hoops to find out they know they received it but do not know when I will get a new one. My suggestion is to go to your dealer that you bought it from try to get them to replace the helmet and tell them about the POOR POOR POOR service Fulmer is giving and encourage them to drop the Fulmer line of helmet.
I wish I had done just that, but I forgot I am dealing with people that are not as good as their word. This is being written as of 03/22/07 at 8:45 AM est. and I WILL give my real Name.
