Hi All

Post by San Francisco »

I am in San Francisco. I have had all kinds of scooters [and motorcycles, superbikes].

I had a Bajaj Chetak that I sold last year. Now getting a Buddy 125 Italia.

That's it for now. Great to see a forum for us to talk shop. I belong to various motorcycle forums, for example, one for Ducati bikes. These are really great gathering places.

Bye for now.

That gangster whitewall is the bomb! As is the the paint job.

Do you have any mods planed?

I have an orange Buddy and am considering contrasting shades of orange to get the look yours has.

I will post some pics later. I will be putting on the pipe mod and some racks front and rear. That will be about it for now.

I like the retro look and I was immediately sold on this two tone, white wall model. When looking at the scooter in front of the dealer's shop many people walked by and commented about how cool it looked. I swear those people were plants by the dealer. :D

Welcome abroad!
San Francisco, Bay Area – Very nice place – I lived in Gilroy in the South Bay for many years and many years ago I used to ride up on Skyline for the morning Sunday rides - things have changed by now for sure.....

How does your Buddy do on the hills in the city?

Yeah, it's like buying an iPod, computer, TV, vacuum... you just know another will be coming down the pipeline soon.

Fortunately the Buddy's easy to paint. You could always go custom!

Barry at San Francisco Scooter Centre was telling me how inexpensive all the plastic for the Buddy costs. He said, for example, that the entire front panel under the headlight was only $28 [don't know if he was referring to his cost].

Anyway, I don't think it would cost all that much to do a color change on the whole bike. All the pieces simply snap or screw into place. Can't get easier than that.

I'd venture to guess a complete color change would cost about $300 to $400. That's not bad for a new look.

I know you can replace all of the interior panels for under $100. Given people's success so far with Krylon Fusion paint, I'd happily experiment (on the wife's Buddy :)) at the risk of having to replace a panel if I screw it up or we don't like the result.
