headlight modulator

Since charging my battery with a battery tender jr. this winter, my running light led bulbs from autolumination.com broke. (they will not replace them nor did they state that their leds do not work with battery chargers) Well, only a few leds in each bulb work and blink constantly. I noticed that cars and pedestrians notice me a lot more with them blinking so I decided to purchase a headlight modulator.

It does not come with a light sensor so I can turn it on whenever I want. I installed it to the high beam and it works great. I really recommend this product. Really easy install, cut the brown wire into the headlight and clamp on 2 pink connectors and then plug it into the modulator. I also adjusted the height on the low beam so it has a higher range and the halogen bulb I ordered from motorsport scooters works great also.

Excellent post. I have modulators on my Duc 998 and the Yamaha R1. Great safety feature.
I'll be ordering two of these right now![We bought two Italias, so need two modulators].
Great workaround too, to install it to the highbeam since it does not come
with a sensor.

Great idea. I just ordered one. You can never have to much visibility!
After getting hit on a tandem bicycle by a car running a red light, I've added a flashing amber LED front and a flashing red LED rear.
It probably would not have helped in this case but there have been many other instances of cars pulling out or turning in front of the bike that probably never even saw us.
In the accident, my wife split her helmet and received a severe concussion and some road rash. She's fine now and fortunately does not remember anything about getting hit. I just received the usual road rash.
Minimal damage to the bike and the driver's insurance more than covered all of the expenses.
You can never be to careful out there!

Keys,
You're right. It's just tempory until I get one that's Buddy related. This one is actually from the Porsche Club of America, Santa Barbara Region homepage.
I've had the Spyder 7 years now and for four wheels it's a blast. 150hp and 1300 lbs weight make for rather spectacular performance.

I've gotta say, for a four wheeler, that one has class.

Now that I think about it, other than the extra wheels, it's alot like a scooter in that there is no top, windows, heater, airconditioner or cup holders.
And it is invisible to other drivers. Just ask James Dean. I do drive with the lights on at all times.

There's a ModernVespa thread in which a number of people are complaining about the autoillumination flashing bulbs going out on them when they used a tender. Ridiculous.

I wish there was a way to warn everyone about their defective products. They do not back their products and do not properly repersent their product defects.
DO NOT BUY FROM AUTOLUMINATION.COM!!!

When I was installing the Stebel horn I took a look around to see where
the modulator installs. Was tired from the horn install, so only gave
a quick look over on the wiring for the modulator.
Where did you install it, inside the headlight cavity? Or was it installed
inside the cavity under the front cover? If it's installed inside the
headlight assembly, looks like one has to pull off the top cover, the piece
that holds the speedometer?
I did NOT see the brown wire you mentioned. Only wires I saw under the
front cover were to the relays, starter, [e.g., turn signals, etc.], none were
brown.
Also, I don't see where hi/lo wire coding indicates a solid brown wire.
Was there a solid brown wire? Did you mean brown/white or is the
solid brown wire behind the headlight?
Maybe the wire codes changed from 2006 to 2007?

I installed it under the headset behind the headlight and the wire was a brown with a stripe through it and I think it was white. there are only three wires going to the headlight, and I hooked it to the other one first which was the low beam and switched it to the brown.
