Turned over 100 on the odometer today and My wife and I went out to a parking lot for her to try it out. She spent an hour on the scoot. She started out really tentatively, but by the end, she was doing really great turns. This was her first time on a motorized bike of any kind. My idea was that we were going to share the buddy, but I think that riding around with 2 buddies on a Sunday afternoon would be awesome.

Scootering together is fun – those that scooter together will stay together.

The theory of scooter propagation holds true. Once one comes into your life/household, it's quickly followed by another. We had 2 within a year and both talk about our next ones. We'd have 4 or so if I could get away with it. Maybe I should clear all the crap out of the garage first...

I bought my Budd last October. A few weeks ago, the young fellow across the street bought a Ducati. Then, the other day I saw his little slip of a wife riding her new 750-850 Suzuki cruiser around the block getting used to it. They said something about riding on the highways.

Kids. What were they thinking?

Last year, we decided we would go from a 2 person 2 car household to a 1 car, 1 scooter. My spouse was the resistant party. he just didnt get it. Until we got it. Within a few weeks we had the second scooter. We had no idea they would become part of our lifestyle. We thought it was just cheap, eco friendly transport from point a to b. Who would think after so many years we would discover a new passion. Neither one of likes driving 2 up AT ALL-but each with our own scooter makes for one great day. I'd go for it.

With golfingirl and I, we started out with one (her orange Buddy 125), which was quickly followed up by a 2002 Vino 50, and then a good deal on a used Buddy 50. We had to trim down by one, so we traded with friends of ours for the Vino, and they now have a Series Italia and a 2002 Vino 50 - our own Scooter gang 8) Definitely grows on you.
