The sickness continues

Post by ScooterDave »

I just bought a 08 Stella with under 1000 miles and minor damage sight unseen & having it dropped off at my office in about an hour.

If anyone has any good deals on scooters please do not call me as I can not control myself.

Do they have scooter interventions?

That's a classic looking scoot. Most of the Genuine scooters I've seen in CA are Buddy's.

Please visit your local scooter therapy group, they do exist and are there to help. These are located in local prisons and community centers where drug and alcohol addicts share helpful tips and stories.

Sweet! Nice buy. Looks like the only damage is where that duct tape is? This scooter will be a great companion to the new '10 4-stroke Stella you'll be getting soon :D

Problem is, I am not sure I am ready to quit. Downside is I am running out of space. I am now having to stash them in my office and I have had more than one person walk in and ask if I was a scooter shop.

Sweet! Metal scooters are the only ones that still look good banged up. No worries there if you scored a deal.

There's a low-mileage, CA-registered red Stella with cowl protectors sitting at NoHo Scooters right now. It wants me to buy it. It may be disappointed if I don't.

There's also a zombie blood green one and he has one of the dark green ones coming, which I think Mike is keeping. (Mike, you're a Dad now. Do you really have time to keep all of these scooters? ;))

I wanted to test ride the red one but no go—it's a consignment. Instead I sat on it, took it off the stand and made vroom vroom noises. Nice ride.

I'm a little envious of you there Scooterdave. I wish I were able to support a larger stable.

My wife's a right smart lass... she always seems to cut right through my "valid and logical" reasons for acquiring more. Some such nonsense about "budgets and responsibilities" and odd little things like that. I keep telling her, "I'm a dreamer, darling. I can't help it". Thankfully, she controls the budget. If it were up to me, we'd live in a warehouse with very minimal living spaces, but a hell of a lot of tools and storage. Actually, that wouldn't be to bad at all. No yard to mow if you live in an old airplane hanger, right?

Nice find!

Hmmm....just tell people you have the scooters because you don't have any chairs and you were trying to accommodate seating for folks that might drop by your office.

Maybe strategically place a couple in the waiting room and behind the secretary's desk...

In keeping with my altruistic nature, I'll let you park a few at my place here in beautiful Tulsa OK. You'll need to leave the keys so I can move them around from time to time, of course.

I think I might have the same disease. The 3 car garage is 2/3's full with my toys. My wife put her foot down when it came to her parking her SUV outside, so I'm now space limited.

That being said, someone brought this Craigslist post to my attention:
http://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/mcy/1388325180.html
I definitely don't need it, I'm not exactly sure what this is, I don't know exactly what I'd do with it ... but I kind of want it and am considering it.

Yeah, Dennis thanks for being so cool and not trying to snag it up before me! Real gentlemen-like. 8)

I'm gonna ride it up and down the culdesac (not tagged yet)... it's about time the neighbors woke up anyways.

After Krusty bought the P200, I snagged a new orange Stella at a reduced price. Waiting for delivery from up north. Put one of mine on Craigslist to sell, but not trying real hard. Rearranged the garage.

I know where there is a $900 stella that "needs work" ;)

I don't mind "preventive maintenance" work but those needs work scoots don't appeal to me. I'd rather ride than work on them. Prev Maint is a necessary evil but helps you avoid the "needs work" category.

Those aren't "issues". They're "opportunities".

If only I had the $900, THE $$ to register and insure it and some mechanical knowledge, or I could ship it to you, but I don't think it would be a good deal anymore at that point.

Heh, no probably not. There's a guy a couple hundred miles from me that has 2 P-200's and a Stella, $3000 for all three. I wish I had more cash :(
