Can the Italia stock tires be swapped to even out the wear? The front is almost new and the rear half worn at 1800 miles.

I think you are asking if you can move the rear tire to the front and the front to the rear, right?
Yes, you can do that, but often the majority of the expense in replacing tires is the labor. You're probably better off simply replacing the rear tire alone (with either the exact same tire or a very similar tread) or replacing both.

Only 1800 miles. Holy crap!
Compare the cost of buying a new tire and having it mounted to the cost of rotating your tires. It might not be too different. If you rotate, the tire you put on the back will likely not even last 1800 more miles and you will have to pay AGAIN to have new tires mounted.

Also, on the subject of making tires last, make sure you are always at the recommended 30psi (or very near it) to help slow tread wear.
A top case (especially one loaded down) on the back will make the rear tire wear faster, as will 2-up riding and fast starts off the line.

I would move a worn front to the rear but never a worn rear to the front. Ride the rear until it's worn out and then replace. I always try to keep a perfect tire on the front due to the hazards of a front skid or blowout.
