There's lots to criticize and also learn from that video, but I will only say:

1. Don't ever let anyone ride your Buddy, no matter how hard they beg.

2. I don't know who it was that was helping her with the scooter ride,
but if it was someone such as a dealer or experienced rider, WTF is
he letting her put on the helmet without strapping it on? I know they have
limited time for the shot, but accidents can happen, so he had no business
letting her take off without the helmet being firmly fastened to her
"air head."

3. They are damn lucky that bystander was not seriously injured.

4. The only helmets riders should be wearing are full face models. My
friend low sided her scooter at about 5 mph. The shield was scratched and
the lower piece protecting the mouth had a dime sized chip taken out. If
she was wearing a half-helmet she would have been taken to the hospital
and her face most likely would have had permanent scarring.

Tracy could've done the scootering world a big service if she had just cracked her head open. No, I'm not wishing pain and damage on her, but a lot of people seem to think you can only hurt yourself at high speed. We all know that's not true and all of Chicago could have known it too.

Then again, Tracy was really an innocent in all of this. As others have pointed out, the person assisting is the guilty party, however he could've been transfixed by all the video and audio gear. I've seen similar spots on our local Denver news. Gas prices go up so out come the scooters. The last one I remember had one local reporter riding very tentatively around a parking lot, which was a good idea. Every now and then, they rerun the spot. I'm going to have to check to see if she had her D-rings fastened.

I wonder if it's always female news-types that get roped into this?
