Drop bars?

I've been toying with the idea of going a bit cafe, and wonder if any of you have tried drop bars on a scoot? I know there are conversions for the vintage Vespa's and Lambrettas. How do they ride? I like clubman's on cafe bikes, but I've never ridden them on a scoot.
Its sorta a crazy idea, and I'd only do it if I could modify the headset to still fit, or fabricate a NEW headset, as I don't like the way the Buddy looks without it's headset.
Thoughts?
