The hook up in the middle of the glove box. I can't seem to figure out what it is there for.

The little hook is great for grocery bags. I've carried many an item that wouldn't/couldn't fit under the seat.
Enjyo your Buddy. I do mine.

The little hook is awesome. I hook my backpack on there when I commute to class, which saves me from carrying the heavy textbooks on my back. My backpack can weigh up to 30lbs, so it's nice to have it low on the scoot. The weight is on the floorboard, but the hook helps keep it stable.

One of my "scooter essential items" is a plastic grocery bag for these hooks. Helps at the drive-through or when carrying oversized items like frozen pizzas and so on.

Eric brings up a question I have had. Do you take your scooter thru the drive-thru? If so, do you ever get questioned by the people working at the restaurant? Since there are signs saying they won't server bicyclists, I kind of assumed that 2 wheeled vehicles had to get served inside.
Thanks -

in KS i've been thru arby's, sonic (biker's here are always at a sonic) and hardee's with no trouble. they probably don't know what your ride is till you've ordered, and then they wouldn't want to thow out food someone *right there* is willing to buy.
and our horn is usually louder than a cicycle's, so they could get more annoyed than it's worth if they turn me down.

Obviously, I do... all too often for my health, ha. I've never had a problem or have been questioned. If I don't have a plastic bag handy, there's room enough in my jacket to stash a fast food bag. In the winter, it helps insulate it.
However, my top case did smell funny for a few weeks after a trip to the local taqueria.

In this scenario, the front basket is worth its weight in gold. It fits the big round salad bowls from Wendys. I have had no problems at drive thrus. I think they can hear my engine running.

I do it all the time (also probably too much). I have a pretty good sytem down as I am usually in a hurry between school and work. I order, than inbetween the order box and the pay window I get my card out. After I pay I put my wallet back and in between the pay and pickup window I pop my seat and walk the scoot up. Once they had me my food I toss it under the seat, slam it shut, hop on and am out of there faster than most people in cars. 10 minute ride up to work and my food is still warm.

I hang my helmet from it when we're all hanging out waiting for a ride to begin, etc.

I hang my chihuahua by it's collar on the little hook. Works great to get it to and from the park. Doesn't seem to mind the ride either.

Sunday brunch: guy pulls up on a Harley, has a chihuahua zipped in his leather jacket with its head poking out. Chihuahua is wearing a pink helmet!
Only in LA.

I've found that a six pack of beer in a bag works real well hanging from the hook. I can keep it from sliding around with my feet. I really wouldn't advise putting it in the heat warmer even it it could fit.
In order to keep your open bottle of beer from flopping around in the glove compartment thingy I recommend a using a coozy or one of those hat/straw combinations.

You're obviously operating under the misconception that I HAVE an open bottle of beer...

Weaseltamer-
Sorry, I was kidding about the dog thing. My sense of humor is often lost on the internet unfortunately....
I'd NEVER hang a dog off the hook.
Always strap it to the rear rack of course.

I have actually seen someone with their little toy dog in a carry on style bag on their scooter back rack. I think the dog appreciated that as opposed to a bungee cord.

once on my way to work i saw a older guy on a scooter with his brown boxer sitting happily on the floorboard while they were cruising. i knew you didn't mean you'd really hang up the dog. but if i had a dog, of the right breed i might consider sitting them in my lap with a upper body harness to my waist or thighs. really depends tho. i wouldn't do it unless it seemed very secure, and the dog wouldn't flip out.

I have my little Jack russell, Holly, that rides along with me in a backpack that I fashioned for her. She is just the right size to fit in there and thoroughly seems to enjoy it. I will see if I can get jenn to snap a picture the next time I have her out. Evryone just smiles as I roll by.

I've also seen a number of motorcyclists that have little doggie "beds" where their passenger seat would normally be. It looked like the dog just hopped onto the bed and was good to go, no leash or anything.
I swear I saw a dog riding on the back with goggles on once.

the hook also serves as a perfect place to hang your sunglasses or spectacles while putting on your helmet....

Not to add to the further hijacking of this thread but I saw a motorcyclist with a small white fluffy doggie in each saddle bag! They seemed to love it but I kept thinking they'd eventually end up in a dogpile!

I swear I saw a poodle riding--with owner--on a red Vespa ET4 here in KC. The poodle was in a harness that reminded me of the one Rob Wilco carries Bucky around with in the comic strip Get Fuzzy.
I don't know where you get a harness like that. It looks like a backpack that straps to your chest. I've seen families carrie around newborns and babies that way.
