Buddy sighting in Tulsa!

Post by Elm Creek Smith »

I know Tulsa Scooters has sold lots of them, but I haven't seen one on the road until today! Orange Buddy southbound on Mingo Road between 36th St North and Pine. Rider waved. I was northbound, Classic Black Budd with a windshield. Who was it?

Yes, that is my scooter.
Yes, I wear a helmet and a FIRSTGEAR armored jacket.
No, I'm not embarrassed to be seen riding it.
Yes, that is an NRA sticker on the fender.

I rode through Brookside last Saturday, saw tons of Harleys and wannabe Harleys. The only scooters I saw were the red Vespa and the maroon MP3 in front of the Vespa dealership. I spent almost ten minutes checking out the MP3 in my scooter gear sans helmet and NO ONE came out to see if I was interested.

I used to drag Brookside with my buddies in high school almost 40 years ago back when Pennington's, Shakey's Pizza, and Der Wienerschnitzel were still around in my 1956 Oldsmobile Holiday Coupe. Maybe I'll start again, or not.
