Can someone ID the part on the picture for me. It came off somewhere, likely when we moved Buddy of the slab it was on during freight. The mechanic thinks it was on a center stand or side stand? When we looked on identical Italia in his shop it did look like there was that knob on the stand to prevent friction but I just do not see where it was on my bike

It's hard to tell from the pic (does your cam have a flower icon? that's the Macro mode- which is perfect for taking snaps of up close stuff like this). From the shape and the description of where you found it, I'd guess that it's the bumper on the center stand. It keeps the stand from slamming into the frame.

Put it on the side stand with the center up and look for a place where the center stand is close to touching the frame. If there looks like there's a hole for that grommet part to go through, that's where it goes. The thick rubber part should be on the back of the stand when it's vertical so that it's between the stand and the frame when it's up.

(edited for horrific spelling)

That little guy will come off from time to time if it's scraped - it's not really necessary but a nice bumper to have for when the stand is up. I check mine periodically.
