[NBR] Spend Less! Link the hot deals here

Post by polianarchy »

I'm sure Buddy_Raton will start up this year's SPEND-A-THON thread soon, but I thought I'd start a SPEND-LESS-A-THON! In light of our uh, certain economic climate, I know I'm not alone in the bargain hunting. I'll start it off:

Shoe Mall has a sale on Harley Davidson brand boots. Order any Harley footwear and enter code SMHARLEYD in the “promo code” to receive a little collectible Harley Davidson motorcycle, while supplies last.

Well I bought a 1080p 22 inch LCD screen from staples for only $95 shipped and it's probably the nicest screen I've ever owned. It has built in speakers too, even though I use headphones the whole time.

I also got a computer case off newegg for $60 after rebate.

Aluminum and steel both. Mostly steel, but I know for sure it's a very cool running temperature case. My friend happens to own the same case in his gaming PC. I was looking for cheap deals on newegg and saw this one being $60, price caught my eye. Just so luckily it was the same case my friend had. It weighs 20 pounds itself.

Solovair Boots are offering a £10 OFF voucher good until the end of January or when stock runs out. Enter code MWM091216154319 at checkout.

http://www.aircushionboot.com/

Made in the UK, Solovair uses the same machine that made the original Dr Marten "air wear" soles.

If you're in Philly, don't forget to come by Philadelphia Scooters for their holiday party AKA biggest sale EVER! 20% off almost everything in the shop. I'm heading out after work to snag some front forks & a rear shock & a copy of Scoot! magazine & those cute socks & maybe a lock & perhaps more gloves. O BOY.

Also, a little bird told me there may or may not be a ride at 6pm tonight or Saturday night. I dunno. Maybe.

And apparently violates their trademark yellow stitching :) They LOOK like a good pair of Doc's though. Especially since most Doc's are made in China now :(

Ahh, interesting, so they're not just a Doc Martin's knockoff, they ARE Doc Martin's.

Hello, it's aircushionboot.com here... had to get involved in the discussion.

My Dad has sold these boots since early 70's and I remember when Air-Wair (DM's) tried to take NPS, Tredair and others to court over the use of the yellow stitching. As the case got closer it became apparent to the Griggs Group (the then makers of DM's) solicitors that other boot manufacturers in Northampton were using yellow stitching before DM's went into production and the case was dropped. There is no copyright on yellow stitching. Although interestingly all merchants that stock DM's are not allowed to stock Solovair with yellow stitching, they risk loosing the DM contract if they do. This is why it's important to support the independents.

Solovair employ 30 people and everything is made to order. These boots are hand made, not mass produced. And yes the first DM's were made in the NPS factory, the same factory that the boots I sell are made in today.

Thanks, that's it, I'm done. I'll get off my soap box now. Tracy, ACBCo.
