NBR - RV 250 won't start

So, my son let his RV 250 set for about 4 months (poor scooter) Initially, the battery was dead, so we replaced it. Now, it won't stay running. It's fuel injected, so carburetor cleaner thing won't work.
I'm not familiar with EIF. The scooter does turn over and it will start and run for 3-4 seconds and dies. If you give it any throttle, it dies as well.
Thanks in advance,
Howard

i would still try running sea foam in the gas. Double check air filter maybe critters built a nest and blocking air passage.

Are you sure that it's EFI? When I was looking into the RV250, all versions that I saw were carbureted versions with an EFI version due out in 2010 (or later) with the 262cc Citycom 300i engine.
I'd double check that it's not carb'ed, cause if it is, it's just a matter of clogged carbs. If it's EFI, then it should have a diagnostic port (I think the SYM's have that).
Just a thought, hope it helps.

citycom is efi. rv250 carbed. avoid alchohol in gas. gums up the carbs fast. remember: drink alchol--burn gasoline. sea foam or carb cleaner will get it if you're lucky. otherwise a carb rebuild. Have a happy tofu turkey day.

Got it running, Thanks for the input. It mostly needed someone with experience in starting something that wanted to be a little difficult. Young folk don't always have the patience or gentle throttle touch that it takes.

My RV250 has a carb, I think they are all carb'bed systems.
.
I am in Ohio and we have had some cold weather lately, I ride mine at least a couple of times a week, but it is still a bit reluctant to start on cold mornings. I roll the throttle (as it instructs in the owner's manual) before starting it and it might still take a few tries before it will stay running.
.
Hey, I am just as reluctant on cold mornings, so I am fine with it.
