Anyone know why a Buddy 50 would be 5-10mph slower when its raining outside? I've noticed that whenever I ride when its raining, or even after its rained my scooters top speed drops to about 35mph (actual). Its really irriating. Any info would be very much appreciated.

Just a guess but..... low atmospheric pressure (as during rain) = low air density.

Increased rolling resistance coupled with the humidity. Humid air hurts performance because water vapor is displacing oxygen.

 HaHaHa! Unfortunately I wasn't born with nearly enough of those instincts. There is something about the rain or humidity that has a significant imapct on the performance of the scooter. 5-10 mph doesn't seem like much but when your best day top speed is 45mph its a big deal  As much as I dearly love my little 50, I think its time to start lookin at something bigger. I want the new genuine that may not get released this year but if that doesn't happen I may look at the new 300cc kymco Downtown or that the very least a blackjack. When it rains the 50 is just too darn slow.
