I also think it would be neat to ride a scooter to what is the top of the world in North America, Trail Ridge Road. Wow, what a ride that would be. I hit search and punched in elevation and nothing came up. I would certainly need to know if the carb would work at that elevation, wouldn't I?
No posts were listed. hhhmmmmmm

Well, that's OK. We'll try one that I'm certain will be on here: speed.
Damn, nothing there telling me how fast a Buddy will run. Oh, I know. I screwed up. I should have typed in fast. OKEY DOKEY then. Double damn. Still nothing.

I don't know. Three obvious things I was sure would be on the FAQ and no success yet.

So I took another route. I punched in elevation and tried all forums. Thats a good idea. After all that is what you told me to do. Damn. This is really getting frustrating. This is all I could get to come up under any forum for elevation.

I tried various words and very few items come up. Let me go back to what you told me the other day.
When you post something about how you're sure it's been posted before, but you didn't look for it... it kinda looks bad for ya. People on MB will go out of their way to help one another, but geeze, man - don't expect them to do everything for you. I know the buying and decision process can be a little overwhelming and frustrating, but you've got to show some initiative.

Quite frankly, Cage, You look worse. The very stuff you criticize me for is not there. I'll be suprised if this post lasts the night, but I've had my say. You demeanor, personality and FAQ could use some work. Wonder if I'll be a member tomorrow.
You're right. I'm a jerk. What the hell was I thinking volunteering my time to try and organize a section for people to find information? Why didn't I think to make a Frequently Asked Question post about model to model comparison that isn't very frequently asked?

My apologies for asking you to do the very minimum due diligence before asking a question. Why would anyone get offended if you imply that it's not worth your time to look for the information before hand, but instead ask our member base to do your homework for you?

Sure, I could edit out your post, even recommend you get banned, but I'm really not that kind of guy. I'm pretty sure you could ask anyone here. I really do try to be a nice guy here. A hell of a lot nicer than I am in person. I actually censor a lot of what I post here in keeping with the nicey-nice comradery that I happen to enjoy about ModernBuddy.

The only reason I even tried to get you to read the FAQ or even reply to your posts is because you weren't getting a lot of responses. I believed this was due to your constant precursory "This has probably been posted before, but I didn't look". It seriously does imply that you think your time is more valuable than ours. So screw it dude. Post till your fingers go blue. I'm going to respectfully ignore your posts and you can respectfully ignore mine, including the crappy FAQ.

Personally I don't think you've done anything ban-worthy. We've had our share of self-centered posters here. But I felt this needed a little more of a personal response, considering the tone of the post.

Happy New Year.

if you post a question and don't get an answer its safe to say that nobody has an answer. if it is not in the FAQ section it has not been an issue or item of discussion yet. no biggie. we are a scooter community trying to grow and learn together. some here are ahead of the curve and do what they can to help others. the rest log on and read, research and share what we find. noobs keep asking the same questions over and over and everyone takes a moment to help or send them in the right direction. it is only natural that the FAQ moderator will point you in that direction. if it is lacking let him know and it will be added or fixed. but don't get pissed and insult others if you can't find what you need. this forum is for the progression of knowledge for all....not just you. keep up the good work LCM. if you buy a genuine scooter there isn't a better resource than Modern Buddy.

hillybear,

Sorry you weren't able to find the info you wanted and that you feel the need to go elsewhere.

Fact is, MB is not an encyclopedic resource for every question and comparison you may want or be looking for. We don;t know everything or have all of the answers in our archives. The FAQ is just that: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS. It's an ongoing project with one member largely responsible for it. He deserves thanks for what it contains, not complaints for what it doesn't.

So do we have all of the info you're looking for? No. You asked, we told you what we know. You searched and didn't find what you were looking for. Everyone here has been quite friendly and as helpful as possible but we can't spoon feed you information we don't have.

You've complained about not getting the answers you wanted on Modern Vespa. Now you've complained about not getting the answers you wanted here. You're the first person to ever voice these sorts of complaints. Others seem to realize that we do our best to offer and share whatever we know but that has its limits. Either you've failed to grasp the purpose and function of these forums or you have unrealistically heightened expectations of the information available here and what others are willing to do to serve it up for you.
