Modern Buddy

Hello All,
My apologies if this has been covered in another thread, but I searched and couldn't find it. I've been riding my brand new Buddy for about 1 1/2 years now and I can tell my brake pads have worn down considerably. I just reached 6k miles on it and was wondering if there is a general rule of thumb as to how many miles before changing the brakes. Thanks in advance!

Well, I'm at 25.5K miles, and now need new brake pads. I'm on my original set. I wouldn't go quite that far with them, but they'll go a long way!

Did you have a 4K maintenance? May want to get a dealer to look at them. Considerably worn at 6K sounds like a lot. Any chance they're rubbing or anything like that?

Are you talking about the front or rear brake pads?
I'm at 12k miles on the original brakes. I've had to tighten the rear brake thumb screw, but the pads still have quite a bit of life left.

I've noticed it on front and rear brakes in that I have to grip both handles harder to slow down. I live in San Francisco so I'm thinking maybe all the hills here have worn the brakes down faster than other places that are flatter. Looks like I'll get em checked out during my next oil change. Thanks for the help!

I'd get them checked, Portland is quite hill-esque as well, and my brakes have lasted forever.
