$295. later and I'm back on the road with insurance and a plate after 4 days of snow.

I got my insurance with Progressive for $200. Here's a tip. Call them and make them email you a filled out RMV-1 form before you go to the registry.

$75. for a title.

$20. registration.

No sales tax because it was previously registered as a moped.

The new law went into effect and nobody at the registry knew what to do. Took them some serious concentration to figure it out and input it into their computer.

Ouch? I'm not familiar with MA's scooter laws but that seems high for a 50cc displacement. I know there is a thread here on MB with state scooters laws which I'm sure have a better idea of other states.

Colorado - $5 for 3 years, under 50cc. No title or license plate required. Insurance isn't even required. Although, that is changing this year on July 1st. After July 1st, under 50cc will "legally" be able to cruise up to 40mph. Park on the sidewalk is legal.

$20 is not bad. Roads don't build themselves you know.

Yeah, they just changed the law here for 50 cc scooters. We need insurance for $200. and $20. registration isn't too bad. At least we can still park on the sidewalk.

We used to be able to register as a moped for $40. for 2 years. No insurance, plate or title required. Those days are gone...
