Get one from a newer Buddy. The '08 and up have them for sure, and the '07 may as well.

Excellent! Now all I gotta do is cruise around with my screwdriver, find a new Buddy, and pull the ole switcheroo!
... or, I could just go here:

The LED tail lights in the newer Buddies are a straight line across and are a lot brighter than the plug in bulb style. The stock LEDs are a straight line across (more rear-facing LEDs) with no reflector housing (not needed with LEDs).
Ask your dealer if they can order a brake light assembly from an 08+ model Buddy (I can't personally confirm the 07 has them). The housing should be the same but it's got it's own LED assembly in it and should plug in as a direct replacement for the rear light assembly of your Buddy.
If you're on good terms with your dealer, they might let you test fit an LED unit (or sell you one for cheap) from a parts bike that might be laying around their shop.

There is no need for a test fit, I've replaced the incandescent tail light assy from a 2006 Buddy with one of the newer LED units. It's a direct swap, even the electrical plug is the same.
Very worthwhile mod IMO.

Thanks for confirming that!
Now there's no excuse
