Speedometer/dashboard bulb?

Post by Perkussion »

Hi folks,
Does anyone know the part number for the bulb that lights up the
Buddy 125 speedometer cluster?
It's metal-jacketed and a wedge base, the writing on it says: 14V 3W.

Now a 14 volt 3 watt automotive wedge bulb is easy to find,
but this one has a dark gray dipped coating on the tip -I guess to diffuse the light. (?)

There are no other numbers on it. Anyone know what it is?

Another question:

About 15 months ago the dealer replaced the headlight bulb.
I swear the speedometer lit up brighter before I had the work done.
I thought they knocked a bulb loose.

Today when I took the dashboard apart, I noticed that it only had one bulb
in it. The other socket had no bulb.
Should there be 1 bulb or 2 to light up the dashboard?

Thank you.

Are you sure that's not the residue from the filament burning out? All the lamps in the Blur were clear, but exactly the same.

You can actually get LEDs as long as the base is the same.

Did they replace the headlight with a 35w lamp the same as stock, or did they put in a standard H4? That's a 20w difference and would explain the dimming.

That's all I've got.

No, the coating is on the outside of the bulb.
The turn signal indicator bulbs are clear.
The bright light indicator bulb is clear.
The casing on this bulb is metal.

It was a 35 watt bulb in the headlight so the dimming was not caused by that.
Anyone?
