Patch design

I came up with a design for a more girly kind of scooter patch. I like how it turned out. The minimum order would be for 50. Kinda a lot for me. Would anyone here be interested in one? They would be $5.00. That would cover postage too. This is my design.

I think there should be lasers coming out of her eyes.

i understand that that is supposed to be you, since you have an italia. I think it might be better if the colors of the buddy were shifted so they didn't clash with the pink. maybe a more girly color scheme for the scooter, even if it's not an actual color available from genuine. just a quick stab, but maybe something like this?

i'm not a girl, so maybe my opinion should be disregarded. but for what it's worth, i have a degree in art, and my wife has a BFA in graphic design. i hope this doesn't come off as arrogant.

I think that design is a little too pink (or more precisely: too many pinks). Getting the scooter down to two colors might help; then you'd only have three hues to balance.

I'll point out that the more colors you use often the more expensive they are... That being said, I used Quality Lapel Pins Inc. to do my Voodoo-Buddy patches, and they did a FANTASTIC job even with gradient colors in them. And they were very affordable as well.

I'll take ten for Scootmoto.com, if the wholesale price is right. PM me if you're interested.

Even if I had an artistic bone in my body, which I don't ... I don't think I'd be offering up any unsolicited design advice.

It looks very nice to me. Mrs. Rob likes it as well. Chalk me up for one for her scooter jacket.

I like it. I like that you can tell it's a Buddy.

And I'm for the laser eyes too.

Hey, no problems! I think I should explain how this design came about. Longish story but I'll try to cut it short. I have two tattoos. One is a rose on my ankle. The other a flamingo on my shoulder. After time these needed a touching up. A friend at work wanted to go with me while I had it done because she was curious about tattoos.

After the work was done Morgan, the friend got to thinking she wanted to get a tattoo too. She told Becky at work and she said she has always wanted one too. They have an appointment this Saturday and I'm going along for support. While they were working out the details of their tats I got to thinking about one for me. The scooter girl is what I came up with.

Trouble is I'm running out of skin real estate that I would like to put it on. That got me thinking about a patch. Trouble is most companys want a 50 or 100 patch minimum. I'm not looking to make a grand profit. I just want to be sure I don't end up with 45 extra patches!

I also am looking into having some pins made up, instead. Looks to me like these could be a nice versatile way to go.

If you can work eye-lasers into it somehow (and I mean honest to gawd, real working frikkin lasers!), you won't have extras left over. It's like one of those "Internet Absolute Proofs".

Also, cats pictured in compromising positions with ironic or asinine quotations should also earn you a nice income.

Free advice is worth every penny. Enjoy!

If I did go for a 3rd tat I was thinking between the shoulder blades but closer to the bas of the neck.

This is the latest look of scooter girl. I also have her worked up as a pin. No, I didn't go with the lazers. I thought the retro sunglasses were enough.

Honestly, what do you think? Is there any serious interest?

If I got 50 of both the pins and the patches my COST would be
$3.36 per pin, $3.16 per patch

If I just got 50 patches it would be $3.28

If I got just the pins the cost would be $3.48

You get a better shipping rate if both pins and patches are bought.

Opinons are welcome. This is just something I'm playing around with.

Both are awesome, dakotamouse.

I would be incline to buy multiple pins and 1 patch.

I collect patches, but I don't sew them onto anything. I just add them to my collection.

FYI, I have a scooter friend who makes soldered jewelry. She does custom orders, so if you want, you can have a necklace with your design. Her website is http://www.etsy.com/shop/jhenrydesigns?page=1.

Is it ok to tell my non-MB scooter friends or do you want to set the price?

I've got quite a few. Between my shoulder blades was one of the more painful ones. The spot where they get at your spine isn't that fun.

It looks great dakotamouse! Count me in for +1 patch :). Just curious, the black/gray area around her scarf and back are staying or just a mock up?

I will be shortly. :) I've heard thats the WORST place to get it.... And the one I'm working on will be waist to armpit down my left side too! My MOST painful one is the skin between my fingers. ouch!

I was wondering about that too. The black sort of makes the scarf look like a cape. I'll look into that.

That's what I've heard. I've got one just above my ankle, on the bone, and boy did that hurt. Bony = owww. The one on my upper arm done on pure muscle MUSCLE I SAY hardly hurt at all in comparison.

I've been to that Etsy site and I liked what I saw. Etsy is a dangerous place for me, wayyyyy to much nice stuff. Thanks for the tip. I've book marked that site. Once I get these patches nailed down I'll have to place an order.

For me it was right below the armpit and then the shin. My last one was 8 hours in one sitting.

Might be time to start another tat thread!

The final design was sent in last Sunday. I am having patches and pins made up. When they get here I will post a picture of the final product.....but I think they turned out really well.

I've been having some computer issues so I've kinda been semi-offline.

I don't mind that the thread turned to tattoos. I've been watching the new thread also. My only regret is that there aren't more pictures!

TA DA! Finally done and ready to go!

The patches are 3 x 3.5 inches and can either be sewed or ironed on, but I prefer sewing. I've never fully trusted iron-on patches.

The prices for the patches are...

1 Patch ........... $5.00 each.
2-9 Patches...... $3.75 each.
10+Patches...... $3.50 each

The pins are about one inch in size. These were a bit more spendy to make up so the pricing is...

1-9 Pins ...........$5.00 each
10+ Pins ..........$4.50 each

Please send payment to me by PayPal at..... [email protected] .

Include how many patches or pins you want. The total amount you are sending. Also be sure to include the mailing address you want to use.

Oh, and if you prefer to send a check send me a pm and I will send you my address.

I'm glad to hear it! I try to get right on those orders. I'm a little off tonight. Friday I had a little bit of foot surgery and work today kinda took a toll on me. Got home hit the couch annnnndddddd totally crashed! Usually orders that come in one day go out the same day but today's will go out tomorrow!
