Welcome!

Granted, it's a cutie, but I would be concerned about getting a ticket now.

I might be misremembering, but I think I read a while back that the reason they put the signal lights up higher and deactivated the deadlights was because they were not far enough apart to meet code here in the states. So I would be worried about getting a ticket for not having the other turn signals on there...and for not having mirrors.

If you notice his location, he's in Guam. The laws on that MAY be different. Though they've also got a huge scooter scene too, so that can contribute to that as well....

I'm not positive, but I think that US DOT regs apply there as well.

I've always wondered that... Since they're a US territory and all.

WOW i just posted a few hours ago and already have replies.

I like this forum!

Yes mirrors are required but cops pay more attention to motorcycles than scooters.

So i took mine off just so my Metro looks better.

I'm planning on getting low pro tires and lowering the suspension.

Check out this Metro:

welcome! I've often thought about getting barend mirrors to replace my stock mirrors. Never cared much for the way the stock mirrors look. I'm a safety freak though so I won't be removing my turn signals anytime soon, maybe I'll add a few more along with a topcase break it and a spare battery for when mine dies

Welcome! Quite the collection of bikes/scooters you have! We have another member from Guam who is heavily into scooter modding and racing. Seems like a great scooter community you have there.

Tumon-Ninja aka Tony and Boya from Scooterworld are friends of mine. They helped me get my Metro 125. Those guys are cool. Heres their website. http://www.streetkings.wordpress.com/

It's also the PGO Metro in Canada.

The US Honda Metro is known as the Scoopy in most other parts of the world.

DOH! Thanks...I didn't even think to look at where he lived as most of the posters are from the US.

Pretty cool that he's from Guam. It's interesting to hear about the scooter scene in different parts of the world! :)

I was never really into scooters before until i saw custom drag racing Metro scooters at scooter world. I got hooked.

BTW i was stationed at Ft. Lewis WA and i was staying at Puyallup and dated a girl at Renton.

If only i got into scooters back then, i could have brought a bunch of parts or even a bunch of scooters to Guam.

Stationed at Ft. Lewis? I knew I sensed some Tacoma coolness in you! By the way, now you are a proud alumni of "Joint Base Lewis-McChord." They just changed the name a couple months ago when they combined the Army and the Air Force bases into one kick-butt fortress.

Welcome to Modern Buddy!

Guam is Paradise. 85-90 degree weather ALL year, seasons never change.
So hell yeah we ride year round!

Not everyone would classify that as "paradise". :)

Yeah, that's a picture of the first Tacoma Narrows Bridge. It's engineering was flawed to say the least. If it got windy the bridge would catch the wind and move up and down. They called it Galloping Gertie. Not long after it was built, it went down during a particularly bad storm. The picture is of the last guy to get off it. He'd walked back on as the bridge was rolling and bouncing to try to rescue a dog in a car. The original Gritty Tacoman. :D

Geez, what a small world! :)

While I'd have to second that I wouldn't find 85 - 90 degrees paradise (I'm a 70 - 78 degree kinda gal!), being able to ride year-round would be awesome! :D

Welcome to MB, and for my part that IS paradise! I'm back on ModernBuddy after the winter hiatus. Just took my scoot out Saturday when it finally hit 50F. She and the Vino have been in the garage since November and they're back there now because another cold front is coming in. Freaking New England winters!

I guess nobody thinks Guam has nice weather.

Hows the weather in your area? :P

Update: My Metro was leaking oil. I dropped it off at the dealer. I'm stuck riding my brother's Sym Mio 50cc 4 stroke. Top speed of 42 MPH.

Oh, sure... it's nice. So is sleeping under the stars next to campfire.... but after a few months I'd be looking forward to a change. :)

A month ago there was a foot of snow on the ground. A few weeks ago daytime temps were around freezing. This morning there was frost on the grass. At noon it was sunny and cool. Tomorrow it's going to rain. Next week it'll reach into the 60ºFs, then the winds will pick up. In August it'll be 85-90ºF and sunny for 16 hours/day. Then the air will cool and the leaves will turn colors. Etc. If you don't like the weather here... just wait a while!

GY6 150 carbon fiber exhaust with modified mount, 90/90-10 tires, slammed front, lowered rear with modified stock coilover, all emissions removed. Oh and racing CDI with racing coil/wire. It goes over 65MPH.
