Just wanted to share this source for scooter batteries with everyone. Unfortunately, my local Buddy dealer went out of business. So I ordered a battery for my Buddy online and I'm thrilled with the price and quick ship. Check out BohannonBattery.com. I got a YTX7A-BS battery for $48 and free shipping. It arrived all charged up and ready to go!

Am I missing something? A quick search using Google brought up at least 3 vendors having prices with shipping cheaper by around 2-15 dollars. The cheapest one was on Ebay for 32.45 with free ship.Seller had a good rating too.All were YTX7A-BS maintenance-free, sealed lead acid. :? Please set me straight if I'm missing something here.

It's an SLA battery (sealed lead acid.) Which I thought was okay to ship according to DOT. Maybe I got my info wrong, but I thought if it was marked properly, it was okay.
This is part of what the DOT regulation says:

Lead acid batteries are listed as Class 8 Corrosive hazardous materials in the U.S. and international hazardous materials regulations and also are subject to specific packaging, marking, labeling, and shipping paper requirements. However, like shippers of lithium and lithium ion cells and batteries, shippers of "nonspillable" lead acid batteries are provided an exception to the regulations if certain testing and marking requirements are met.

Anyway, I was happy to get out and ride today.

No Buddylicious, you're not missing anything. There are other vendors out there with good prices on batteries. Just noting that Bohannon Battery has excellent service and good prices since they survive on word of mouth.

I got my battery from batteries plus. I like the folks who work there, they really know their batteries! I got 8 or 9 Ah battery with a two year warranty for $79. It was a bit pricey but its a great replacement for the crap 3Ah battery that the 50s come with.
