[SBR] Scooter addiction

Post by Kaos »

So I've been on vacation in Phoenix, AZ this week and really enjoyed the roadtrip and relaxation, but I've got to say. I *REALLY* miss my scooter. I miss the freedom of riding, and the joy of being on my bike. Its fantastic weather here, and I've only got 4 wheeled transportation! Gah!

Its been bad, I find myself LOOKING for Buddy's or other scoots as we drive around doing things on the off chance I can strike up a scooter conversation.

Hello, my name is Kaos and I'm a scooter addict....

Haha, nice! I hope you get to ride your scoot soon!

It drives me nuts when I've driving my car and see someone else on a scooter. I always wish I was on my scooter instead. :(

Missing for a week? My GTS has been broken for month! Imagine going from 600+ miles a month to nothing at all.

Yikes! I'd rebuild my bike from the ground up before I went that long without one!

Sorry to hear that Maribell!

The wife and I just took a short two day vacation on our scooters, our Vespa’s, Albuquerque to Las Cruses, and back, all together about 600 miles. Its spring break so we worked the trip between my work and her school. We had the best of both worlds vacationing and scooters; the only problem it was cold. When it’s cold it becomes fatiguing. So, except for the cold we loved the trip and we are planning more extended trips with our scooters in the near future. Next trip we are planning, when the weather gets better is: Albuquerque via the Jemez to Taos, spend the night, ride the Enchanted Circle then ride to Santa Fe, spend the night and ride home via the Turquoise Trial; two nights and great NM scenery.

A stop for lunch on the way to Las Cruses, in San Antonio NM - With top boxes and under seat storage we were able to carry everything needed, we originally planed three nights but cut it short due to bad weather. Image

small trailer would have been nice to take the scoot with... my friends at work are going to help me this coming winter with putting a hitch on my 89 festiva so i can haul at least one scoot with it... i also have a old chevy van that hauls both bikes and a shop of tools if needed... no matter how much i love all my rides i can only drive one at a time...
Scoot'in is more fun than beating up your sister, and it comes with a key!!!

back in the early 70's when i was stationed in Albuquerque i took a two week leave and went all over NM and AZ on a Honda 750... it is by far the most wonder scenery iv seen to date... loved N. AZ so much i bought some land there to one hopefuly retire and live and die there... i am native american (Hopi) my greatgrand-mother on my mother side... i have a few cuz'ins and a few uncles that live in southern AZ and Flagstaff... i remember how much more friendlyer the people seem to be than here on the east cost,,, i hope that still hold ture today...

I thought about it, but the wife and I don't agree on the utter importance of having a scoot with you at all times. :)
