Nothing wrong with wanting something solid. I totally agree on not wanting a prototype. But the new rides coming out have been a long time coming. Not designed and built last fall. I'd love to try out the new blur. We'll see.

I hear ya. It's tough to choose when there are so many nice bikes/scooters to chose from and only so many dollars available. I'm getting ready for my second set of wheels too and have been wrestling with what to get: a new Stella or something I can take on the highway - my first MC. Finally, practicality won the day and I settled on something which can take me on the highway to those places just a little to fast or far away for my scooter. (Where's that touring scooter!) I hope to get it by May. My Stella will come next...

If you get a bigger scooter or motorcycle, will you still keep your Buddy 50? If not, sell it and that's more cash right there, right?

I was a little leary when I bought a first year import...or.."prototype" scooter. It was a 2006 now Vintage Buddy 125 in the now retired Cream color! I would have no problem buying a 4T Stella (if I wanted one) or the 220 Blur (I REALLY want to try one of them!)

Yeah a few things have changed on the Buddy, but those big headlights still look funny to me!

I'm with you on the blur 220. The way I look at it is that if you ride it a lot then anyhting that might be wrong with it will break during the two year warranty period

wow, folks on craigs list are crazy. had first couple show up to see the bus today, they were cool but i think they wanted something older. (like them) next guy I wasn't so lucky, he came over, asked all the right questions, said " I want it".... i go into the crib, bring out the title to discover him holding a clump of cash saying all he could round up was 1,143 bucks. I LOOKED AROUND FOR WITNESSES. I restrained myself & told him to kick rocks & I called the next potential good home. Enter Tammy, who tells me she can't drive a stick, so i gave up today. I'm so glad i don't need the cash & didn't throw my phone # on.

POC sells those Enfields and I've personally put a few hundred miles on a couple of them. Really fun bikes to ride. Very classy looking. The supply chain for parts and accessories is very good as well. Be sure to get one of the EFI models. They're way better.

Ooooh... that's nice in the yellow. I didn't know until recently that the first Indian MC's in the US were actually Enfield's (pre "Royal" Enfield days) with Indian badging on them. Go figure. Now those are some of the most collectible. Learning, learning, learning. All the time, learning....

Thanks for the info DJ. Great to hear a personal review. I'm definitely getting one of the EFI models, a 2010, now that they are finally CARB certified and legal in CA. Apparently RE's mission in the EFI engine redesign was to up the power and dependability, and create a bike that can cruise at 70 all day long and hit 85 when needed. I think it is going to be a great first MC for me. Not too big, not too small. And still with that same, 1 cylinder, vintage MC/scooter vibe to it. Perfect.
